I am a trained social and cultural anthropologist (PhD, LMU Munich, 2023; Dissertation Prize, 2024) working at the intersection of critical migration studies and the anthropology of affect and time. My research examines how people build lives under precarious, temporary and revocable conditions, in particular across Pakistan and Central Europe. I currently hold the position of postdoctoral researcher in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Oulu, where I will soon also take over the role of a Project Manager of the MITIME doctoral network (MSCA-DN) on migration, time and urban inequalities. I have prior to this worked as a researcher on the Horizon Europe project on the rights of irregular migrants (PRIME) and have led a co-edited special issue of the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies (2026) about migration categories.
